Gourd Carving is a traditional craft of the high Andean mountains, an age-old craft practiced amongst the artisans for generations in Peru. The maraca also known as shac-shacs in Trinidad and rumba shakers in some parts of Latin America are a traditional percussion instrument throughout the Americas and the Caribbean. These maracas are made from the calabash or bottle gourd known for its long and slim shape.
Each maraca is one of a kind, colors and sizes may vary.
